十年前，我大學畢業，前路茫茫、未知方向。那時候，沒有人談甚麼「一帶一路」，也甚少人對俄羅斯這個國家有興趣。當時我剛剛從荷蘭和新加坡交流回港，不甘於找份平平淡淡的工作，於是想碰碰運氣，在網上申請海外工作的機會。一天，我收到一封電郵，邀請我到索契一間媒體公司從事文字工作，自此我的人生開始出現翻天覆地的變化。 初到異地，不諳俄語的我在當地日子過得不易。每月支薪兩萬盧布（約2,200港元），旅居市郊簡陋的房間，而僱主更經常拖欠薪水。當初對海外工作的浪漫想像與「入鄉隨俗」的真實體驗構成很大的落差。三個月後，適逢有機會加入國際媒體公司工作，我便向俄媒請辭，重新展開事業生涯。儘管如此，俄羅斯彷彿是一個未完的心結，而心裡一直很想重回這片陌生的土壤。 直至2014年，我離開了當時的工作，正在思考未來發展的方向。一位駐港俄羅斯記者轉介我於《俄羅斯報》在《南華早報》出版的特刊「Russia Beyond the Headlines」出任編輯，主要編採香港與俄羅斯的專題故事。這個機會讓我重新踏上俄羅斯這片土地，而且經常受邀出席政府或俄企主辦的媒體團和國際論壇。不經不覺，我已到訪十多個俄羅斯城市，每一段旅程也有不同的難忘經歷。
